The Houghton Chapel Centre

The charming Cambridgeshire village of Houghton (pronounced 'Hoe-ton') is located, with its sister village of Wyton, on the north bank of the River Ouse between Huntingdon and St Ives.
Like most villages Houghton was, in the 19th century, home to both a Parish Church and a nonconformist chapel - in this instance a Congregational Church.
Faced with declining congregations in the 20th century and the threat of redundancy it was decided a few years ago, to establish Houghton chapel as a retreat centre under the auspices of the Eastern Synod of the United Reformed Church.
The chapel has been tastefully adapted to provide modern accommodation for short term residential holidays and retreats as well as for daytime courses and caters for up to 30 guests.
The idyllic riverside setting coupled with traditional village ambience and comfortable accommodation makes this an ideal location in which to hold retreats or other activities.
